DO YOU INTEND TO BRING YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY TO FRANCE?
France has implemented a simplified procedure for joint delivery of administrative documents for you and your family (spouse and children). Your visa and resident card applications may be filed all at once at the consulate nearest your place of residence. The procedure for your family is also handled by
ANAEM, which provides temporary resident cards, with the mention visitor, following a medical check-up. All of your resident authorizations are valid for the same length of time. You family needs to request entry into France as an accompanying family at the same time as you file your own paperwork, even if their arrival date is different (as long it is within 10 months of the approval date of your work contract).
Work authorization for expatriate spouses
The foreign spouses of company directors and high-level managers are authorized to work, and a work permit is provided for them automatically by the DDTEFP. In order to change work status (from visitor to employee), the spouse must enter France normally and obtain a letter of intent regarding the work contract, for a non-temporary job under French law (if the salary is higher than 2,000 euros gross per month). Pick up an application for this at the
Préfecture.
Through a partnership agreement with the Employment Sector (public employment service) and close ties with other partners for employment and training, we will be pleased to
help you reclassify your employees' spouses.

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A SCHOOL FOR YOUR CHILDREN?
You may enroll your children in public school free of charge at any time of the year. There are also (paid) private school options. Depending on your children's level of French, they are admitted either into a regular class or in a French initiation class for a few months. In addition, some
schools offer international sections, from elementary school up through high school. With this option, some classes are taught in French, following the regular French scholastic program, and other classes are taught in the language of the international section, based on the scholastic program and with native, certified teachers from the country in question. The goal of this curriculum is for students to earn the French baccalaureate, equivalent to a high school diploma, with a Baccalaureate International Option (OIB). With an OIB, the high school diploma is accepted for admission into universities in the associated countries.
